Catholic Charities St. Margaret's and St. Michael's Adult Foster Care Residences
Adult foster care residences providing community-based assistance for adults with severe and persistent mental illness.
Part of Catholic Charities overall mission is to enhance the dignity of every person we serve. At St. Margaret’s and St. Michael’s, that means providing the least restrictive environment necessary, and allowing residents to be the primary authors of their care. Our goal is to help residents live their best lives.
Location: St. Cloud, Minnesota
- Private resident rooms with up to three people.
- Staffed 24-hours a day, seven days a week by awake staff
Skill Building
In order to help residents live their best life, staff work to build residents skills in several key areas:
- Daily living skills, such as cooking, laundry, and house cleaning
- Survival living skills, such as proper diet, medication management, medical health care, and personal hygiene
- Independent living skills, such as checkbook management, bill paying, community integration, securing and maintaining a job
- Behavior management skills, such as anger management, feeling identification, and relationship building
- Social skills, such as interpersonal communications (with family, friends, acquaintances, co-workers, authority figures), grooming, politeness and etiquette, cooperation, compromise, conflict resolution, respect for personal space
Community Building
Every person needs a community of support in their lives. St. Margaret's and St. Michael's staff members are committed to keeping an open conversation with each residents community, sharing up-to-date information, and building caring relationships among residents, their families, caseworkers, physicians and counselors.
Referral and Admission
Referrals are made by calling the Program Manager. Contact information is below. Admission is made in concert with referral entities. Referrals from social service agencies are not required.
