Volunteer for Catholic Charities

The desire to help others is one that is in all humans. At Catholic Charities, we have a myriad of volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups. Our volunteers come from many backgrounds and faiths – they are not just Catholic. We invite you to join them!
One hour, one week, one year, one decade – Catholic Charities has volunteers who have made many different commitments to helping others.
Generally, our volunteers are age 18 and older. Common volunteer opportunities include doing clerical work, working in one of our kitchens, or sorting and folding clothes. However, if you have special skills and talents that you would like to use, please tell us!

We ask all of our individual volunteers to fill out a volunteer registration form. You may mail or email that form to the address at right.

Once we receive your application, we’ll give you a call to chat about how your unique skills and abilities can be best used.

If you are specifically looking for volunteer opportunities with Catholic Charities Food Shelf, Catholic Charities Foster Grandparent Program or Meals on Wheels, please visit those pages for more information.
Catholic Charities has many opportunities for groups to volunteer for our programs. However, most opportunities take a bit of coordination; please call 320.229.4590 to discuss your group’s skills and abilities. We’ll try to match them with Catholic Charities needs.

Past group activities have included:
  • Landscaping and yard work
  • Large-scale cleaning projects
  • Creating or assisting with decorations for an event
  • Coordinating a donation drive
  • Assisting in processing donations after a drive.
Many more opportunities exist. Please call volunteer coordinator to discuss how you can help make a different tomorrow in Central Minnesota.

Complete a Group Volunteer Registration form.
Many students have shared their time and talent with Catholic Charities. Their activities often fall into three different categories: required volunteering, group volunteering and internships.

Required Volunteering: For those who are required to volunteer for short periods of time, know that opportunities are at times limited – especially opportunities for client interaction. All opportunities are filled on a first-come first-serve basis. Please contact us ASAP for the best chance of fulfilling your requirement.

Group Volunteering: Catholic Charities has many opportunities for groups to volunteer for our programs. However, most opportunities take a bit of coordination, please call Rebecca at 320.229.4590 to discuss your group’s skills and abilities and we’ll try to match them with Catholic Charities needs.

Internships: Internships are a fantastic way to both volunteer and learn. Visit our Internships page to learn more.
