Part of Catholic Charities overall mission is to enhance the dignity of every person we serve. At St. Margaret’s and St. Michael’s, that means providing the least restrictive environment necessary, and allowing residents to be the primary authors of their care. Our goal is to help residents live their best lives.
In order to help residents live their best life, staff work to build residents skills in several key areas:
Daily living skills, such as cooking, laundry, and house cleaning
Survival living skills, such as proper diet, medication management, medical health care, and personal hygiene
Independent living skills, such as checkbook management, bill paying, community integration, securing and maintaining a job
Behavior management skills, such as anger management, feeling identification, and relationship building
Social skills, such as interpersonal communications (with family, friends, acquaintances, co-workers, authority figures), grooming, politeness and etiquette, cooperation, compromise, conflict resolution, respect for personal space
Every person needs a community of support in their lives. St. Margaret's and St. Michael's staff members are committed to keeping an open conversation with each residents community, sharing up-to-date information, and building caring relationships among residents, their families, caseworkers, physicians and counselors.
