Catholic Charities Emily's Place Transitional Housing

Catholic Charities Emily's Place, located in St. Cloud, is a voluntary program that provides a temporary home and support services to motivated single women in a sober environment. Clients cooperate with case managers to develop a long-term stability plan that removes barriers to permanent housing. Clients are supported and held accountable to their plans through frequent meetings with staff.
Residents who are at least 24, live in a shared living community with other motivated women. The house has four private bedrooms, other living areas are shared. Residents may stay for up to 2 years. All residents must be sober and chemically-free. Each resident is responsible for their own groceries, cooking, and cleaning in addition to their expected work toward long-term stability. Residents must be working and or furthering their education. Residents are also required to volunteer 2-3 hours a month.
Each resident is required to work with on-site Licensed Social Workers to develop a long-term stability plan – following through on these plans is part of the housing contract. Plans are reviewed and revised at least monthly.

Residents are expected to grant release of information authority to program staff so ongoing compliance with recommended and required services can be confirmed.

Finally, plans may include a requirement to participate in recommended community-based services such as counseling, Chemical Dependency or Mental Health aftercare.
The program accepts only professional referrals from other St Cloud-area residential facilities. Referred women must be succeeding in stays at those programs. For them, Emily's Place should be the next step on their journey to permanent housing. Monthly program fees are $300 per month. Residents are encourage to put additional earnings into a long term stability account that is managed by the program staff. This is to ensure the necessary dollars available for when permanent housing is obtained.
