Catholic Charities Day Treatment Programs

Catholic Charities Day Treatment programs seek to help students with emotional and behavioral disorders function more successfully in their homes, schools and communities.
We work with children and their families; we know that family involvement is essential to a child’s success and that a child’s success is essential to a happy, healthy family.

The Child and Adolescent Day Treatment program is a rehabilitative mental health service for students experiencing challenges in age appropriate developmental level. These developmental challenges may be in social interaction skills, emotion regulation, mood management, and/or behavioral disruptions due to a diagnosed mental health condition. (Depression, Anxiety, Asperger Spectrum Disorders, Trauma, etc.) Due to these challenges, most of our students experience difficulties at home, at school and in the community.

All programs utilize a strong collaborative approach providing both academic and therapeutic services within the typical school day. Focus/Journey, in Elk River, Young Learners Program in St. Cloud and the St. Cloud Child and Adolescent Program offer this multi-disciplinary approach serving children from ages 3-18.

The Day Treatment programs are approved by the Department of Human Services to provide Children’s Therapeutic Support Services. The therapeutic services include Group Skills, Group Therapy, Individual Therapy, Family Therapy, and Diagnostic Assessments. We prioritize meeting the needs of the individual and their families. We know that family involvement is essential to a child’s success and that a child’s success is essential to a happy, healthy family.

All therapeutic groups and academic class sizes are small (6-10), allowing for maximum teaching opportunity and partnering with students and families for success. All programs have a strength based philosophy and use evidence based techniques, curriculum and therapy.

The therapeutic program is under the direction of a licensed Mental Health Professional. All highly trained, kid-friendly staff have met the Department of Human Services recognized criteria to provide mental health services.

Therapeutic Services are financially supported by most private insurance and/or medical assistance.

The Academic Program is financially supported by your local school district. Therefore, all referrals are initiated through your local school district’s Special Education Department.
