Job Summary:Are you looking for an opportunity to work directly with clients in the St Cloud community?  Catholic Charities Emergency Services is looking to share an opportunity with you.  Emergency Services provides emergency financial assistance, a food shelf, clothing and household items to families and individuals in need.
Activities:
  1. Financial Assistance Counseling
  • Brief counseling of clients to help identify need and their own personal resources
  • Awareness of and contact with other service agencies & business that may provide support to our clients
  • Documentation of requested and provided services; assist in the preparation of statistical reporting
  1. Food Shelf
  • Register clients for the food shelf and verify statistical information
  • Provide assistance to clients using the food shelf
  • Check out clients
  • Documentation of requested and provided services; assist in the preparation of statistical reporting
  • Assist with Mobile Food Shelf
  1.  Clothing Program
  • Register clients for the clothing program
  • Provide assistance to clients using the clothing program including special needs
  • Documentation of requested and provided services; assist in the preparation of statistical reporting
  1. Clerical Assistance
  • Answer phones
  • Data Entry
  • Fielding questions
  • Use of copy machine,  printer, computer
  1. Volunteer Coordination
  • Assist Volunteer Coordinator in recruiting and interviewing volunteers
  • Experience working in numerous volunteer positions

Responsibilities:The position will work with a variety of people both inside and outside the organization. This position will represent Catholic Charities in a wide variety of situations that will require tact and diplomacy.  The position works primarily in an office environment. 
Hours:To be determined by the program and Intern candidate
Education:Students needing to complete a 200 hour plus internship to obtain their Undergraduate Degree in a Human Service Discipline.
Experience:Ability to work independently as some projects will require initiative and independent action with general supervision on an outcome basis. Ability to work with others and be a contributing member of the team. Ability to write clearly and concisely. Strong interpersonal communication and computer skills Energetic self-starter
Duration:One semester in a full time unpaid internship.
