Back to School Drive
Last year Catholic Charities Emergency Services assisted over 2,000 Central Minnesota students with basic school supplies. Their parents weren’t just relieved, they were ecstatic.
We’ve noticed an exciting trend in 2012 at Catholic Charities Emergency Services. We are seeing more plateaus and less large, spikes in need for our services. Over the last five years, the number of families we have been serving has doubled. This year, though, the need seems to be leveling off! However, the need is NOT going down.
We would appreciate you supporting our back to school efforts with a financial contribution or by conducting a school supply drive.
Supplies needed include:

It’s fascinating how today’s technology has impacted the look of those basic school supplies, even chalk boards seem to be a thing of the past as just about every school supply list includes dry erase markers for every student.
Please take time to consider how to organize others to help. Some workplaces are ideal places to generate funds or supplies to help. Tools for conducting a drive can be found at here. Every contribution counts and may be able to help at least one child.
Supplies can be dropped off Monday through Friday, 8 – 4:30 p.m. and 8 – 7 p.m. on Wednesdays at Catholic Charities Emergency Services, 157 Roosevelt Road (behind Tenvoorde Ford).
Distribution of school supplies begins August 21.
